Gáspár. M. Tamás (1948-2023) was a blacklisted dissident Hungarian intellectual in the 1970s and 1980s, after the changes he served as a member of the Hungarian Parliament and, later, as the Director of the Institute of Philosophy of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. He had become a Marxist in the early 2000s. His collected philosophical papers Törzsi fogalmak (Tribal Concepts) (1999) were followed by a Festschrift in his honour in 2008.
