Cultural Committee

The Cultural Committee draws its members from workers in the cultural sector: artists, writers, playwrights, actors, critics, videographers, musicians, and cartoonists.

The Committee’s goal is to build spaces for the production and exhibition of cultural expression that promotes socialist values and advances the critique of capitalism. Socialist politics happens not just in government, but in the stories we tell, the songs we craft, and the images we create.

The Committee has organized a variety of cultural events. Some of these include: Art vs Alt, a one day symposium about creative challenges to the alt-right; FilmSocial, where political films are screened and discussed by activists; and Drawing the Left, To Radical Creativity, a May Day celebration exploring the links between culture and politics.
