About

LeftStreamed is a massive open online archive of digitized public talks by hundreds of leading Left public intellectuals. The mandate of LeftStreamed is to record, digitize, archive, publish, and stream talks by Left intellectuals to the world, at no cost to the public, and with no advertising cluttering the politics.

If you were not able to get to Toronto for a talk by Bhaskar Sunkara, Ursula Huws, Bill Fletcher Jr, Jodi Dean, Leo Panitch, Jane McAlevey, Ian Angus, Henry Giroux and others, don’t worry, LeftStreamed’s got you covered. Since 2007, we’ve made hundreds of public talks virtually available to those unable to physically attend.

Each month, we record talks by Left thinkers. We edit digital videos of the talks and then upload them to our archive to preserve their memory and make them available for future use. The digitized version of the talk is then published online, publicized and swiftly circulated to audiences all over the world.

In addition to creating our own videos, we aggregate and curate videos made by other activists, groups and organizations in Canada and around the world. Free to access and often used in educational settings, LeftStreamed’s videos reach hundreds of thousands of viewers and are available to watch anytime, anywhere.
