Kazuo Shii is the chairman of the Japanese Communist Party and served as its secretary-general for over twenty years. The author of numerous books, his most recent publications include Communism and Freedom (2024), Das Kapital is Interesting Now (2025), and Free Time and “The Capital” (2026).
