The Leo Panitch School for Socialist Education is very pleased to present Force of Evil (1948) as the second installment in our special series of film screenings on the topic of money.

Featuring powerhouse performances from Beatrice Pearson and John Garfield, Force of Evil is a masterpiece of American film and is often considered the high point of the film-noir genre. The film was the last contribution from director Abraham Polonsky before he was called before the House Un-American Activities Committee and subsequently blacklisted by the industry for his refusal to divulge the names of fellow Communist Party members.
